Pondering

Have you ever wondered what you would do if your dh/so died expectantly? Well I got a little bit of that taste last night and made me think. I really don't know what I would do or anything. I really don't want to think about it. But there comes a time when you have to think about it I guess. lol Ok here is the story...

Charles works for KDOT (Kansas Department OF Transportation) Well they do have to work on the state highways. That includes the ditches and shoulder. Ok. So yesterday he was doing traffic control (flagging) Well it was going just fine until 2-2:30 pm. He had this truck stopped and he heard something so he stepped out so he could see down the road. Mind you they stand in the middle of the road. I know I know. he just did not learn from his parents to not play in the road and he expects to teach Boomer that. rofl... Anyways there is this coming and he is not slowing down one bit. Charles is like crap what the hell to do. He could not go anywhere. Well as the truck got closer he realized I guess that there was people stopped so he turn left and laid it the truck on it side. Well there was this one truck that went in the ditch to get out of his way and not end up being hurt. He was bearly moving. But that other truck did not even attempt to hit the brakes. He was going 55 in a work zone. Not smart. Anyways, there was no skids mark. Charles almost got hit. He said that he seen his life flash before his eyes. Well his boss called me at 4 and said that he would be late, because he was working an accident. I asked if anyway was hurt and he started laughing and said no. Well I know why he was laughing. Charles told me all this after he got home at 8:30. He told him NOT to tell his wife what happened, because I would freak out. That is what he said. So that was the reason his boss was laughing. Anyways. If this truck had not went to the left and hit the tanker truck that was stopped and was hauling flammable oil No one would have been alive. So all last night and while I was trying to go to sleep. I was pondering this question. I am not any closer to the answer. Except to know that I would not pay for a funeral and I would be in a lawsuit.

Scary....I'm glad God was watching out for Charles and everyone else on that road. Good question tho, I wonder how many people really are prepared for unforeseen circumstances such as an unexpected death? I know I'm not.

I always felt like that when Terry (my ex) was wokring. He's a trucker and used to be gone for up 2 weeks at a time sometimes... So scary out there... {{{hugs}}}

On a different note, love your new background! You & Jamie did a good job!
